BAKER CITY — A Baker City man has been sentenced to 30 days in county jail and three years of probation after admitting to sending sexually explicit photographs to a minor.

Samuel Madison Jr., 20, pleaded guilty in Baker County Circuit Court on Tuesday, July 16, to one count of luring a minor, a Class C Felony. The charges stem from an incident in December 2023, when Madison sent explicit photos of himself to a 14-year-old girl’s cellphone.

Madison, who knew the girl, will also be required to register as a sex offender.

“The presumptive sentence for this felony is 30 days and the victim’s family is good with that,” said Greg Baxter, District Attorney of Baker County. “They want to make sure that the community and their daughters are protected.

The case came to light when the girl’s mother discovered the explicit photos on her daughter’s phone. Baker City Police arrested Madison on January 4, 2024.
