Firefighters battle two fires in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Fire Department responded to two separate fires Saturday.

At 4:27 a.m., crews were dispatched to 612 S. 12th Ave. for a metal storage shed on fire behind a residence. The fire caused significant damage to the shed, plus a trailer and jet skis.

No injuries were reported, and the damage is estimated at $2,100.

After investigating, the cause of the fire was ruled arson. Video evidence has been obtained and turned over to the Walla Walla Police Department. Anyone with information can contact WWPD at 509-527-4434.

The second incident, a residential structure fire, occurred at 3:49 p.m. at 1017 Pomona Street.

The first arriving unit arrived to find the home fully involved along with a motorhome that was parked nearby.

One firefighter was treated on scene for heat exhaustion. No other injuries were reported.

Damage is estimated at $248,000. After investigation, the cause of the fire was undetermined.
