NORTHEAST OREGON โ (Release from the Oregon Department of Forestry) A permit to operate a power-driven machinery (PDM) is required when the district determines that an activity is more than general maintenance, meets the definition of an operation, and poses the risk of starting a wildfire on forestland. All other activities, not requiring a PDM, on land protected by the Oregon Department of Forestryโs Northeast Oregon District MUST follow the current fire season public use restrictions.
The district encourages landowners/operators and the public to contact their local ODF office if they ever have questions about fire restrictions or when a permit for PDM is needed. All operators need to understand this guide to ensure safe and responsible operation.
