COLLEGE PLACE – Improving railroad crossings and constructing two roundabouts are on the agenda for tonight’s (Tuesday) College Place City Council meeting which begins at 7 p.m.
The council will consider acting on submitting a state grant application to improve the railroad crossings at Northeast Damson Avenue and Northeast Wallula Avenue.
Also on the agenda, applying for state grants for roundabouts at Southeast 12th and Larch, plus another one on Whitman Drive, adjacent to the Home Depot.
A study conducted in 2018 said that by 2023, traffic would warrant a roundabout and pedestrian crossing improvements at the 12th and Larch intersection. The roundabout on Whitman Drive will be installed due to impeding improvements to the south which includes commercial, restaurants, and lodging.
