Heat Advisory for John Day Basin, Friday thru Tuesday

JOHN DAY, DAYVILLE, MONUMENT – A Heat Advisory goes into effect from noon this Friday, July 5th, through 10 p.m. on Tuesday, the 9th for the John Day Basin. The National Weather Service reports that hot temperatures with modest relief overnight is expected during that period. Prepare for highs in the 90s to low 100s. …HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON FRIDAY TO 10 PM PDT TUESDAY…

* WHAT…Hot temperatures with modest relief overnight expected.

  Highs in the 90s to low 100s. Morning lows in the upper 50s to mid

  60s.

* WHERE…Central Oregon and John Day Basin.

* WHEN…From noon Friday to 10 PM PDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat

  illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are forecast to

  be the hottest days with Moderate to Major HeatRisk (risk of

  heat-related impacts).

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of

the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose

fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning

or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and

heat stroke.
