WALLA WALLA COUNTY – The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners approved a contract Monday with InterWest Construction, based in Burlington, Washington to replace the 110-year-old Dell Sharpe Bridge west of Prescott.

Built in 1914, the bridge which spans the Touchet River and is accessed via Pettyjohn Road is nearing the end of its serviceable life.

The $6.8 million project to replace the existing bridge with a two-span, prestressed girder bridge, begins later this month. The project should be completed in October 2025.
