Union County approves nearly one hundred thousand dollars in local transient tax funding grants

UNION COUNTY – During their regular meeting on Wednesday June 26th, 2024, the Union County Board of Commissioners approved eight transient tax funding grant requests for various events and attractions across the county. The grants (reviewed and recommended by the Transient Tax Advisory Committee) total $96,894 for fiscal year 2024-25.     • (Caveat that funds are used for advertising, costumes & props)

    • Shamrock Shuffle – Advertising & Expenses

During the meeting, commissioners also expressed interest in revising the grant categories, possibly covering them in a future work session.
