Union County approves nearly one hundred thousand dollars in local transient tax funding grants

UNION COUNTY – During their regular meeting on Wednesday June 26th, 2024, the Union County Board of Commissioners approved eight transient tax funding grant requests for various events and attractions across the county. The grants (reviewed and recommended by the Transient Tax Advisory Committee) total $96,894 for fiscal year 2024-25. The full list of recipients, including the specific projects being funded, is as follows:

- Friends of the Opera House

- (Caveat that funds are used for advertising, costumes & props)

During the meeting, commissioners also expressed interest in revising the grant categories, possibly covering them in a future work session.
