Chief Joseph Days Rodeo Announces 2024 Hall of Fame Inductees

JOSEPH – (Release from the Chief Joseph Days Rodeo) Chief Joseph Days Rodeo is proud to announce the 2024 Hall of Fame Inductees. This year’s distinguished list includes Eddy Akridge, Clyde Longfellow, Stephen Bros Rodeo, Alfred and Una Makin, Wick Prout, and George and Lorraine Dawson. These individuals have made significant contributions to the rodeo community and will be honored for their outstanding achievements and dedication.

Inductees:

  • Eddy Akridge: Chief Joseph Days All-Around Cowboy in 1948 & 1949
  • Clyde Longfellow:  Chief Joseph Days Rodeo Saddle Bronc Riding champion 1966, 1972, 1974, 1975, and 1984 and earned the esteemed Harley Tucker Memorial Award in 1974.
  • Stephen Bros Rodeo:  The Stephens Brothers provided livestock for 18 years for Chief Joseph Days from 1974-1991.  
  • Alfred and Una Makin: Over 30 years of dedicating their time to CJD in ticketing, marketing, stagecoach, and more!
  • Wick Prout:  Vice president of the Chamber of Commerce in 1951 and president in 1952.  After serving as president, he served for several years as a director, Indian chairman, rodeo grounds chairman and wherever needed.  
  • George & Lorraine Dawson: Sold CJD tickets for 25 years out of their business on Main Street in Joseph.

Please join us for the official induction ceremony on July 21st at 3:00 PM at Slack Drinks & Dining, located at 108 N Main Street, Joseph, OR. This celebration is an excellent opportunity to honor the legacy and contributions of our inductees.
