Towed vehicle with flat tire starts wildfire near Dayville

DAYVILLE – A small brush fire was started between Dayville and Picture Gorge, along U.S. Highway 26 on Thursday. Sheriff Todd McKinley stated that the blaze started from a pickup truck with a flat tire being towed. The incident occurred around milepost 138. The fire was around 1/10^th of an acre in size, and multiple agencies responded; including the Dayville Fire Department, BLM firefighters, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, and ODOT.
