Plea hearing delayed for Central Oregon woman accused of hitting Baker FFA bus while drunk

DESCHUTES COUNTY — A plea hearing has been delayed for the woman accused of crashing into a bus full of Baker FFA students and teachers.
34-year old Katrina Nicole Dacus of Culver was set to enter a plea June 3. It is now scheduled for July 24 at the Deschutes County Courthouse.
She is charged with 26 Class A misdemeanors, including eight counts of fourth-degree assault, 15 counts of recklessly endangering another person and single counts of DUII, reckless driving and second-degree criminal mischief.
She’s accused of running a Redmond stop sign on, Friday, March 22 and crashing into the side of a small school bus carrying 14 Baker County Future Farmers of America students, who were in town for the state FFA convention.
The charging document alleges Dacus was driving with a measured blood alcohol level of at least .15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit of .08.
The bus was severely damaged, and it was recently shown to Baker High seniors as an example of the dangers of driving under the influence.
