UNION COUNTY — The Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO)  is warning people around the county about yet another scam targeting residents.

In a recent Facebook post, the UCSO says, “Our dispatch center has taken multiple calls this morning about someone presenting as a UCSO Deputy stating the call recipient has a warrant for their arrest. This “deputy” also left voicemails that were “too fast to understand” but ends with “have a blessed day.” While we do wish you would have a blessed day, we won’t call you and tell you that you have a warrant for your arrest. This is another scam. We attempted to call the number back, but we were unable to make contact”

The Sheriff’s Office and other agencies say scam calls such as these are on the rise. Anytime you receive a call that you feel is suspicious, especially if it’s someone claiming to be from law enforcement demanding money,  hang up and call your local police dispatch.
