Police investigate shooting in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA โ€“ The Walla Walla Police Department is investigating a shooting after a 29-year-old Tri-Cities man arrived at Providence St. Mary Medical Center just before 6 p.m. Monday with a gunshot wound.

Detectives questioned the victim and his 30-year-old female friend, also from the Tri-Cities. Initial information given suggested that this incident may have occurred at Pioneer Park. However, as the investigation progressed, detectives could not confirm the location of this shooting.

According to WWPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Nick Loudermilk, there were several bystanders at the park at the alleged time of the shooting, but police did not receive any reports from any other people in the area. Loudermilk said this is still an active investigation but said that currently there is no evidence to suggest the community at large is in danger.
