Sweet advancements in Grant County’s EDM program

JOHN DAY – Grant County ESD’s Every Day Matters Specialist Bonni Booth was in KJDY Studios for an episode of Coffee Time on Thursday. Booth said that while she provides different attendance incentives for each of the Grant County schools she works with, students across the map agree that ice cream is one of the best awards for reaching their attendance goals. Booth explained that she’s stepping up her ice cream game:
“In addition to being able to provide transportation with the grant funding we’ve received, we bought our own soft-serve ice cream machine. We’re hoping to be able to get that out to back-to-school nights, celebrations, school-based community events; and if I can get some youth that are interested in learning how to operate the ice cream machine, they’ll have some future employable skills.”
