PENDLETON – The Umatilla County Republican Party is honoring Bill and Margaret Hansell at a dinner at the Pendleton Convention Center Saturday. A no-host bar will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

After decades in public service, Bill Hansell is retiring at the end of the year as state senator. Before that, he served as a Umatilla County commissioner. GOP Chairperson Suni Danforth says you can’t honor Bill Hansell without honoring his wife as well for all their work in the county, their community, and church.

“They have served our county and his district and our state for a lot of years in so many ways,” she said.

There are many surprises on tap for the night that Danforth is keeping quiet about in order to surprise the Hansells. They include a silent auction and live entertainment. The menu includes prime rib, salmon, or a vegetarian entrée. Tickets are still available. More information is available by calling Danforth at 541-304-5477.
