Man extradited from Mexico faces 2023 child molestation charges

WALLA WALLA – Alexis Arnoldo Araujo Serrano, 28, accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl he knew at Hood Park in Burbank last September made his first court appearance Monday in Walla Walla County Superior Court. He had fled to Mexico following the incident.
While at the park, the victim secretly took video and photos of the suspect touching her inappropriately and sent the videos and photos to a family member.
According to court documents, Araujo Serrano was apprehended last October by the U.S. Border Patrol. On Sunday, Araujo Serrano was booked into the Walla Walla County Jail on three counts of second-degree child molestation. He’s being held on a $75,000 bond.
