Beulah “Billie” Bullard

With a profound sense of sorrow, we announce the passing of Beulah “Billie” Bullard, a cherished mother, sister, and friend. Beulah, or “Billie” as she was endearingly called, was born in Los Angeles, CA, on October 18, 1921, and gently left this world on February 17, 2024, residing in Mount Vernon, Oregon. Beulah was a beacon of light in our lives, a woman of strength, resilience, and unyielding love. Her life was a testament to her thoughtful nature, her witty sense of humor, her compassionate heart, and her dedicated service to those around her. Billie embodied the adage, “To serve is beautiful, but only if it is done with joy and a whole heart and a free mind.” As a devoted homemaker, Billie’s home was always filled with warmth and love. Her passion for gardening and crafting reflected her creative spirit and appreciation for life’s simple beauties. Serving her community was more than a hobby; it was a way of life. From her role as a Girl Scout Leader to becoming the Lions President, Billie’s dedication to service was truly inspiring. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Lions, Elks, Trinity Center Historical Society, and John Day Seniors Center. Billie’s vibrant energy and uplifting spirit were infectious, making her a beloved figure in her community. Billie will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, her daughter Cheryl Berry, her sister Barbara Cox, her brother Donald Cummings, 2 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and their extended families. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Martin Bullard, her precious daughter Nancy Bullard, her sister Beverly Bowman, and her brother James Cummings. Hers was a life well-lived and well-loved, and she will be profoundly missed. A celebration of Beulah’s life will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 6:00pm PDT, at the Elks Lodge, 140 Northeast Dayton Street, John Day, Oregon, 97845. Memorial contributions in her honor can be made to the John Day Seniors Center, Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation, or Elks Children’s Eye Clinic-Casey Eye Institute through Driskill Memorial Chapel, 241 S.
