WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council will consider tonight (Wednesday) at 6:30 p.m. a contract with QRS Consulting of Boise for design and permits for a project involving the gates on the drinking water intake facility located in the Mill Creek watershed.
According to city staff, the gates are experiencing operational and functional problems. The gates are also insufficient in protecting the intake facility during a flood. The contract is not to exceed $561,000.
Also on the agenda, the council will consider an $883,000 state grant to support the Walla Walla Housing Authority’s Meadow Grove multi-family low-income housing project.
The grant will help the Walla Walla Housing Authority build utility infrastructure improvements along Woodland Street and within the project site needed to build 50 apartment units.
