Sheriff McKinley seeking witnesses to a theft near Hwy 26

GRANT COUNTY – Sheriff Todd McKinley is looking for information into a theft between John Day and Mt. Vernon that you may have witnessed, and not even known. Find the full press release from the Sheriff below:

On Saturday morning, March 30th, between midnight and 6:00 am, someone broke into a location near mile post 157 on Highway 26.
During the crime, an item was drug to Highway 26, and then left on the side of the roadway until help arrived to load it in another vehicle.
Multiple vehicles were seen passing through this area during the morning hours, while the theft was taking place. If you or someone you know saw anything along the stretch of road between Bragga Way and Childress Loop Saturday morning, please contact the Grant County Sheriff’s Office at 541-575-1131.
