PRAIRIE CITY – Chief Marvin Rynearson of the Prairie City Volunteer Fire Department reminds anyone doing their spring burning to be extremely careful. The chief said burning is better done in the mornings, because the winds tend to pick up during these spring afternoons:
“Just be cautious with your spring burning and cleanup–actually, any time of the year. There are a lot of hazards out there. Wind events are especially a problem. Just use extreme caution.”
Fire departments all throughout Grant County have already been called out on multiple incidents involving escaped burns this year.
Folks are asked to call Grant County Emergency Communication’s non-emergency line if you plan on burning, at 541-575-0195.
