LARAMIE, Wyo. — La Grande’s Andrew Peasley journey to the pros took another step on Tuesday.
Peasley was in the spotlight as part of the University of Wyoming’s annual NFL Pro Day, in which seniors on the Cowboys display their football skills in front of NFL scouts.
Peasley graduated from La Grande High in 2018, having signed with Utah State to play quarterback. After four years, he transferred to Wyoming, where he earned the starting spot.
In his last year in Laramie, Peasley threw for 1,991 yards and 20 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He also rushed for 419 yards and seven touchdowns while leading the Cowboys to a 9-4 record and a victory over Toledo in the Arizona Bowl.
“My thoughts heading into the draft are having patience and hard work,” Peasley told Elkhorn Media Group before Pro Day. “I will give all my efforts to training and having the right mindset to make it to the next level.”
NFL Pro Days are typically one of the last times an NFL hopeful has to try out in front of teams before the draft, which is in April.
The Pro Day testing includes the 225-bench press, vertical Jump, 40-yard dash, broad jump, 3-cone test, 20-yard shuttle, 60-yard shuttle and specific position drills.
“I have been in college football for six years and I want to continue my journey,” said Peasley. “I love this sport and that is what influenced me to try and continue playing.”
