DIXIE – The Dixie School District has decided to ask voters to approve a replacement programs and operational levy one more time, in the April 23 special election.
The same measure tied in the Feb. 13 special election with 94 approval votes and 94 rejection votes.
The Walla Walla County Elections Department certified the special election this past Friday and said the Dixie School District has not requested a recount.
Next month, voters will be asked to approve the same levy as proposed in February. If approved, the levy would cost Dixie taxpayers $1.40 per $1,000 of assessed property valuation. The levy would collect a total of $140,000 in 2025 and the same amount in 2026 to finance educational programs and operation expenses.
