COLLEGE PLACE – The speed limit from Northeast Rose Street to State Route 125 will be 25 miles per hour starting this Friday. Currently, there are sections where the speed limit is posted at 30 and 35 miles per hour.
College Place Police Chief Troy Tomaras said the speed limit reduction on College Avenue follows the recommendations of a recent engineering study.
“In large part due to increased traffic on our roadways, combined with community growth and site distance from connecting roadways, driveways, and parking lots,” Tomaras said.
CPPD officers will be conducting enforcement to help ensure a smooth transition.
“We know this is a big change for our community, so education will be the focus over the next month,” Tomaras said.
