BMHD Foundation sets out to engage in acts of kindness

JOHN DAY – Blue Mountain Hospital District Foundation Director Jena Knowles was on Coffee Time Tuesday. She said the main goal of the foundation, a nonprofit that’s been in place since 1999, is to reinvest in health and health care in Grant County:
“The foundation has done that by helping expand services, by purchasing equipment, or upgrading equipment, or funding programs throughout the hospital district over the years and done some really great things.
The foundation has purchased everything from a vein finder for a couple thousand dollars, all the way up to a 3D mammo. machine for over $100,000.”
Knowles said the foundation will be holding a fundraiser on February 17th, which is Random Acts of Kindness Day. She said funds raised at the banquet will be used to perform random acts of kindness throughout the community in 2024.
