COLLEGE PLACE – The College Place City Council meets tonight (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. and will consider a $38,400 professional services agreement with J-U-B Engineers for analysis to develop improvement options and costs for the southeast corner of Lamperti Lane and College Avenue.
Public Works Director Robert McAndrews said there have been several instances where vehicles have crashed into the city’s fence on the southeast corner of the intersection. There have also been at least two vehicles that have gone over the wall.
JUB Engineers will help determine if improvements are possible to make the intersection and wall safer to prevent ongoing damage to city and private property, plus prevent future accidents or injuries that could occur at that intersection.
McAndrews said it is likely that additional costs will be necessary to design and construct the selected improvements.
Tonight’s meeting will also be streamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
