HERMISTON – Devin Christensen, 32, and Shawn Curtis, 27, were arrested Saturday by Hermiston police officers thanks to a tip from a resident of the 200 block of Northwest 11th Street, who was not at home at the time.
He told police he noticed via camera that there were four men inside his detached garage. Officers responded and found two open garage doors. When they moved closer, they noticed two men who matched the descriptions provided by the witness. After what Police Chief Jason Edmiston described as a short foot pursuit, Christensen and Curtis were taken into custody.
“The other two males involved were not located at the time, however, through the investigation were identified,” Edmiston said. “The estimated value of the stolen and recovered items was $2,350. The other two males are still being sought.”
Edmiston described the two who were arrested as Hermiston area transients. He said that over time Christensen has been arrested 29 times, charged with 51 crimes and Curtis has three arrests with four charges. They were booked on charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, and criminal conspiracy.
