Rite Aid has confirmed two more stores located in the Columbia Basin will close next week as part of the company’s bankruptcy process. Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy in October to restructure itself after falling sales and opioid-related lawsuits.
Rite Aid Public Relations Manager Catherine Carter said its Hermiston store at 825 S. Hwy. 395 will close Tuesday, Jan. 16, followed by the Walla Walla store at 2028 E. Isaacs Ave. on Thursday, Jan. 18.
Elkhorn Media Group did inquire about the future of the Pendleton store. Carter said there are currently no plans to close that location.
In November, Rite Aid closed its Milton-Freewater pharmacy at 105 S.W. Second Ave.
