Celebrating Life

Shawna Lynn Boothby, 70, passed away on Dec. 21, 2023, at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City. At her request, there will not be a memorial service.

Shawna was born on Jan. 12, 1953, in Baker City to L.E. (Bari) and Marie Colombari. She joined older siblings Sandee and Bari.

She attended local schools and graduated from Baker High School in 1971. She went to beauty school in Pendleton, then returned to Baker City to start a long career as a hairdresser.

She married Glen Boothby on March 15, 1974, and they had two sons, Mark and Casey.

Shawna worked at M’ Lords and Ladies salon, which was located in the north end of Big V (now D&B Supply). She later bought the business, and when it closed around 2000, she joined The Last Resort. She moved to Styles ‘R Us in 2005, and retired in November 2019.

In retirement, Shawna and Glen took several cruises — one to Alaska and another to New England. She also filled her time making artistic cards, and many have received these creations for a birthday, a holiday, or just because.

She had a wonderful laugh and was quick to joke — often with a bit of sarcasm.

Shawna is survived by her husband, Glen, of Baker City; sons Mark (Amy) of Nampa, Idaho, and Casey (Sheree) of Nampa, Idaho; granddaughters Logan, Mason, Ella and Hadley; sister, Sandee Britton of Baker City; brother, Bari Colombari of Portland; nephews, a niece, great-nieces and great-nephews, many friends, and her favorite dog, Cooper.
