The following is a news release from the Hermiston School District:
Hermiston School District has important upcoming dates for families to be aware of.
The district will host the third of six mental health sessions on January 9, 2024; the topic will be suicide prevention. Families may attend in person at Rocky Heights Elementary School, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. or register through the district website to participate remotely. Dr. Greg Hudnall, founder of Hope Squad, offers experience and expert advice around how parents can help to prevent suicide. RH doors will open at 5:45 pm with dinner served to the first 50 attendees. Childcare will also be available.
Hermiston High School will host a vaccination clinic on Thursday, January 18th, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Students in grades K-12 missing their school vaccines may get them, as well as the flu shot, at the clinic with no cost to parents/guardians. Families with health insurance are asked to take insurance information for billing purposes.
Oregon’s Immunization Exclusion Day is February 21, 2024. Students not up to date on their vaccines will not be allowed to attend school after February 20, 2024.
