BAKER & UNION COUNTIES — Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort announced the temporary suspension of operations until the upcoming weekend, citing the need to preserve the current snowpack. The resort will be closed through Friday, reopening for the holiday break on Saturday, December 23.
The resort says despite the advantageous high elevation that has helped maintain the snow base, the decision was made to avoid skiing activities in the next few days due to less-than-ideal current conditions. The forecast indicates colder temperatures and snow leading up to Christmas weekend, which the resort hopes will improve skiing conditions after the brief closure.
For those who pre-purchased lift tickets or rentals for the period from December 19 to December 22, refunds will be issued.
The resort’s regular operating schedule will resume, with daily operations through January 1st. On Christmas Eve, the resort will close at 1 pm, and it will be closed on Christmas Day.
