Prairie City Mayor provides wintertime reminder to residents

PRAIRIE CITY – Prairie City Mayor Scott Officer reminded KJDY listeners Monday morning that all residents and business owners need to work together to keep the town’s sidewalks clear of snow:
“Keep your sidewalks clear. We’ve already had some people fall down on the sidewalks in Prairie City. If you [have] a sidewalk in front of your property, keeping it clear is the responsibility of that property owner, whether you own the sidewalk or not.”
The mayor also reminded folks not to shovel that snow from your sidewalks or driveways into the streets.
