Burns-The Burns Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in Burns yesterday. The fire department arrived on scent and extinguished the fire with no other damage to the property except for the fire’s origin.
After investigating possible causes of the fire, it was determined that a heat lamp being used to keep animals warm was the cause.
Heat lamps can be a fire hazard if they are not placed in a safe area. If they come in contact with flammable materials, they become a fire hazard. The infrared radiation that is produced from the lamps, have the possibility to ignite flammable materials, dust on the bulb, or as much as a feather from a bird flying up into the lamp can cause a fire. If you are using a heat lamp, the Fire Department asks you to take extra caution in using one and avoid possible fire hazards.
