Celebrating Life
Linda Gail (Roberts) Cook, age 84 of Mt. Vernon passed away November 30, 2023, of liver cancer. She has gone to be with her family who passed away before her. A memorial service in her honor will be held, January 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the John Day Elks Lodge #1824. All are welcome to attend.
Linda was born September 30, 1939, in San Angelo, Texas. She married Ronald Freeman Greene (deceased) in December of 1956 and welcomed three children together.
In July of 1971, she married Darrell Nash Cook (deceased) together they moved to Grant County in 1978 and started a rabbit ranch. She held many jobs here in Grant County and after her retirement, she loved to travel and visited many places both in and out of the United States.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Duard Monroe Roberts and Mary Narcis (Deland) Roberts; sister, Lillian Calista Roberts, and one daughter, Veronica Jean (Greene) Flanary.
Survivors include her sister, Glenda (Roberts) White; daughter, Linda June (Greene) Kinnaman; son, Robert Fulton Greene, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.
