GRANT COUNTY – Grant County Road 18, or Keeney Fork Road, is closed for the season…just ask one unlucky truck driver.
On Friday, the Grant County Road Department was advised of semi-trucks attempting to cross over a closed roadway at the Keeney Fork junction. At was at 3:20 p.m. Then, at 4:27 p.m., Grant County Emergency Communications received report of a truck that was stuck on Grant County Road 18. The call was passed on to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. Nothing further was released. We’ll provide updates once communication has been received from GCSO.
The Grant County Road Department has issued the following messages on ODOT’s tripcheck.com regarding the closure:

County Road 18, Keeney Forks Road: Semi-trucks and freeway traffic NOT advised during winter storms. This route is CLOSED AS AN ALTERNATIVE ROUTE when I-84 is closed due to weather such as snow.
Additionally, there is LIMITED WINTER MAINTENANCE on this roadway. Motorists should use extreme caution during active storms as conditions can change rapidly.

Keeney Forks Road, County Road 18 is a limited winter maintenance road.
This road is CLOSED to ALL Hwy truck traffic and is not a detour when I-84 is closed. Do not follow your GPS through this road.
