PASCO – A yearlong project to repaint the Blue Bridge will close one lane of U.S. 395 in either direction for several months. This week, contractor crews will begin staging equipment on the Pasco side of the bridge. The project will take shape this month although actual work won’t start until January.
The Washington State Department of Transportation will also lower the speed limit across the bridge from 55 to 45 miles per hour. People can expect added travel time once painting begins and will likely experience long delays during peak hours.
Travelers can use alternate routes. The Cable Bridge crosses between Kennewick and Pasco and the I-182 crossing goes between Pasco and Richland.
The project should be done in early 2025.
