PENDLETON – The Pendleton Chamber of Commerce is urging people to shop locally during the holidays. Chief Executive Officer Cheri Rosenberg-LaBoy said treasures can be found in the city’s shops and she’s tired of seeing social media rants complaining about what isn’t there.
“The harsh reality is, if you want those things, you have to start spending money now locally,” she said. “So put your money where your rant is.”
Rosenberg-LaBoy knows that there are some things that can’t be found in Pendleton, but she said that people should ignore what is there. In addition, she said the Christmas season is a great time to say thank you to the local merchants who support the community all year.
“These are the folks that are supporting your kids and our events that we have as a community,” she said.
The Pendleton Chamber is coordinating a shop local campaign that will see the winner getting a flat-screen TV and gift certificates. To find out how to enter the Retail Challenge, check out the Pendleton Chamber of Commerce page on Facebook.
