Celebrating Life

Dena Marie Pierce, 51, of Summerville, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at her residence. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of Christ on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 2:00pm. Casual dress is preferred by the family.

Dena was born on October 8, 1972 in La Grande, Oregon to Lindsey and Carolyn (Olp) Pierce. She resided in Summerville and graduated from Imbler High School.

Dena worked for Wal-Mart as an Associate and she also was a caregiver. She enjoyed crafting, making jewelry, going to yard sales, driving up in the mountains and spending time with family. She was an active member of the Church of Christ.

Dena is survived by her children; Athena Pierce and Felicia Pierce both of Topeka, KS, Breanna Hassan of Summerville, OR and Malia Pierce-Hassan of La Grande, OR; mother, Carolyn Pierce; sisters, Tonia Snider of Summerville, OR, Malessa Molina (Joe) of Topeka, KS, and Amber Clark (Justin) of Summerville, OR; brother, Nathan Pierce of Summerville, OR; 1 grandchild, Bayley Hassan-Maldonado; 6 nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Artie and Lala Pierce, Dale Witherspoon, Teresa and Scott Arnson, Donna and Mike Shields, Lisa Olp and Elaine Olp. She was preceded in death by her father, Lindsey Pierce; grandparents, Louise and Walter Olp and Artie and Irene Pierce; aunt, Roberta Witherspoon and uncle Ray Morrison.
