KENNEWICK – The Kennewick Police Department recently made three arrests after detectives began investigating reported incidents of child abuse, involving multiple children, at a home in the area of West 19th Avenue and South Olympia Street.
Disclosures made during a forensic interview, plus work from Child Protective Services, let KPD detectives to obtain probable cause to arrest Reva Gonzalez, 51, Ernesto Garcia-Uribe, 38, and Carlos Mendoza, 20, all from Kennewick.
With the assistance of the Pasco Police Department and the Tri-City Regional SWAT Team, both Gonzalez and Garcia-Uribe were taken into custody without incident. Mendoza, who arrived at the residence shortly after the arrests, was also taken into custody without incident.
All three individuals were booked into the Benton County Jail. Gonzalez and Mendoza were booked for assault and assault of a child, both in the second-degree. Garcia-Uribe was booked for third-degree assault of a child.
KPD reports the children involved are accounted for and safe.
