Vehicle accident results in death of Yakima toddler

YAKIMA – The Yakima Police Department reports an 18-month-old girl was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck by her father’s pickup truck.

Officers responded just after 4 p.m. to a residence on the 200 block of South Seventh Street.

YPD reports that the child’s father was maneuvering a pickup within the driveway when the child was partially driven over. Despite medical intervention, the child succumbed to her injuries shortly after 5 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
