WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Fire Department said after investigation, it has been determined an overheated ceiling exhaust fan located in the first floor bathroom is what started a residential structure fire Monday morning.
Firefighters responded just before 1 a.m. to the 500 block of School Avenue. As part of a mutual-aid agreement, Walla Walla County Fire District No. 4 also responded.
Occupants were alerted of the fire and able to safely exit the home due to properly installed and working smoke detectors.
Damaged is estimated at $25,000 and no injuries were reported.
