Prairie City sewer project could expand opportunity for growth

PRAIRIE CITY – Prairie City Mayor Scott Officer was in the KJDY and News 102 newsroom recently and said he would like to see the expansion of a sewer line to some city-owned property just outside the west edge of town:
“We have easement across the bottom of the log yard for our sewer line. We’re looking at putting sewer on out to the city-owned property, down by where the burn pile is at. [It would] expand opportunity for growth. DEQ would cover the fixing of the old sewer lines, but not the expansion of. I’m chasing every avenue I can to try to find some money to get that [done].”
