Public to be involved in John Day City Manager selection process

JOHN DAY – John Day Mayor Heather Rookstool was recently in the KJDY and News 102 newsroom and said there will be a meet-and-greet for the new City Manager candidates on October 6th. She said this is the first time that they have included the public in their City Manager selection process:
“It’s going to be on a Friday. We will do a Meet-and-Greet for the community from eight [a.m.] to ten, and I’ll have donuts and coffee and stuff at the Fire Hall. Staff and community members can come and meet the three candidates, and also have an opportunity to drop in a box any questions they want asked of the candidates during their interviews.”
Mayor Rookstool said all three candidates are willing to move to John Day to take on the full-time position.
