There’s everything from golf to bull riding at Round-Up and Happy Canyon Monday.
The 33rd annual Round-Up Memorial Golf Tournament gets underway at 8 a.m. at the Golf Course at Birch Creek (formerly the Pendleton Country Club).
Timed event slack begins in the Round-Up Arena for team roping, breakaway roping and barrel racing at 9:30 a.m. Admission is $5, including a day sheet.
The PRCA Xtreme Bulls Finale has its first performance at 8 p.m. in the Happy Canyon Arena. Gates open at 6 p.m.
The Oregon National Guard’s CH-47 Chinook helicopters are scheduled to make some appearances during the week, beginning Monday. They will be carrying some thrilling cargo, in the form of the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs parachute team.
They will be at the golf tournament at 8:30 a.m., and will also perform for an all-school assembly for the Athena Weston School District at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston McEwen High School football field. The Chinooks will also carry the Leap Frogs to the Pendleton High School soccer game Tuesday at 4 p.m.
