BAKER CITY — A Nampa man faces multiple counts of DUII after being pulled over and arrested twice in the same day.

Oregon State Police say 45-year-old Jeffrey Malson was pulled over for speeding on I-84 near milepost 298 near Baker City on the morning of Friday, September 1.

The responding Trooper could see and smell marijuana in the truck and Malson admitted to smoking weed earlier. After conducting field tests, Malson was arrested for DUII-Marjuana. While searching the truck, the Trooper found marijuana as well as hallucinogenic mushrooms.

The truck was impounded and Malson – who was traveling with his wife –  was taken to the Baker County Jail, where he consented to a breath test and blew a BAC of 0.00%. Malson was placed in jail but was soon released by the jail.

Several hours later, an OSP Trooper in Hood River stopped a truck for failing to stay in its lane n on I-84. The driver – who turned out to be Malson – showed signs of impairment.

The Trooper discovered Malson had been arrested in Baker City earlier in the day. After another field test, Malson was arrested yet again and more marijuana was found in the truck.

Malson was charged with DUII for a second time. He was cited and released to his wife, who was sober.
