LA GRANDE – La Grande Public Works is continuing hydrant flushing. According to Water Superintendent Lee Mannor, crews are currently working in the area of Island Avenue and North Willow Street. Overall progress on city hydrant flushing is estimated at roughly two-thirds completed.
As a reminder to residents in the vicinity of flushed lines, water may appear discolored and give off a slight odor. This water is still treated and considered potable. Residents who experience water clarity problems are encouraged to run a cold-water faucet outside of the house for roughly ten to fifteen minutes to help clear their water service line. Any problems or questions can be directed to the Public Works Department at 541-962-1325.
