One Cow and One Calf Dead Following Wolf Depredation in Wallowa County

WALLOWA COUNTY – ODFW has released information concerning recent wolf depredations in Wallowa County. A confirmed depredation, which was investigated on August 22, resulted in the death of one cow and a six-month-old calf. This incident took place in the Akers Butte area on private land and has been confirmed to have been caused by the Wildcat Pack.
A second incident was also investigated on August 22, though the determination and pack responsible is currently listed as “Other.” This second incident resulted in the death of a single six-month-old calf.
