Inmate Dies at Baker County Jail

BAKER CITY – (Release by the Baker County District Attorney’s Office) On Saturday, August 19, 2023, an inmate was found unresponsive in his cell at the Baker County Jail. Corrections deputies immediately began life-saving measures. The inmate was later declared deceased by paramedics and the Baker County Medical Examiner.
The Baker County major crime team, led by the Oregon State Police, Baker City Police Department, and District Attorney’s Office began an investigation. At this time, no foul play is suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
