The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for many parts of Oregon, Washington and Idaho today, calling for excessive rainfall and flooding Sunday night into Tuesday afternoon. See the agency’s full Flood Watch statements below:

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE…A portion of northeast Oregon, including the following
areas, Grande Ronde Valley, Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon,
Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon and Wallowa County.
* WHEN…From late Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks,
streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations like burn
scars and areas of steep terrain. Flooding may occur in poor
drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– The remnants of Hurricane Hilary are forecast to impact
northeastern Oregon Monday and Tuesday. Periods of moderate
to heavy rainfall are possible, in addition to embedded
thunderstorms, due to extremely high levels atmospheric
moisture moving through the region.

following areas, in central Idaho, Lower Hells Canyon/Salmon River
Region, Orofino/Grangeville Region and Southern Clearwater
Mountains. In east central Idaho, Eastern Lemhi County and Western
Lemhi County.
* WHEN…From Sunday afternoon through Monday evening.
* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks,
streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Burn scars
and flood prone areas will be at risk for rock, mudslide, debris
flows. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings
may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– High levels of atmospheric moisture associated with the
remnants of Hurricane Hilary are forecast to impact north-
central Idaho Sunday through Monday. Periods of moderate to

Mountains, Camas Prairie, Lower Treasure Valley ID, Owyhee
Mountains, Southern Twin Falls County, Southwest Highlands, Upper
Treasure Valley, Upper Weiser River, West Central Mountains and
Western Magic Valley. Portions of Oregon, including the following
areas, Baker County, Harney County, Malheur County and Oregon
Lower Treasure Valley.
* WHEN…From Sunday morning through Monday evening.
* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks,
streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations like burn
scars and areas of steep terrain. Flooding may occur in poor
drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Extensive
street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers is possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– A monsoon moisture surge Sunday followed by tropical moisture
from the remnants of Hurricane Hilary Monday has increased
confidence in the potential for flash flooding. The heaviest
rainfall is expected Monday when Hilary`s moisture interacts
with an incoming Pacific upper trough, producing rainfall
rates as high as 3 inches per hour.
