WALLA WALLA – Demolition has begun of the old barracks that once housed Army Air Corps trainees at the former Walla Walla Airfield.
The four buildings that are coming down are located on East Lear Avenue, just east of the Walla Walla Regional Airport terminal.
Last month, Port of Walla Walla commissioners approved and authorized the total demolition project of $121,029 to Harry Johnson Plumbing and Excavation of Walla Walla.
The port staff said once demolition of the old barracks is complete, the land will be made available for future development.File photo
