JOHN DAY – The Grant County Youth Livestock Auction is this Saturday, August 12th at the Grant County Fairgrounds’ Heritage Barn. Auction Committee Secretary Shannon Springer was on KJDY’s Coffee Time on Thursday to inform listeners of all the important details.
Springer said this year, there are significantly more animals going through the auction that Grant County youth are taking to fair:
“So, this year, it looks like we’re going to have in the neighborhood of 170 animals, or lots, going through the sale. That’s up about 40 from last year.”
Buyers can expect hogs, turkeys, chickens, beef, goats, and sheep all to make their way through the sale ring.
The Hospitality Tent opens at 3 p.m. Saturday, with the auction set to begin at 4 p.m.
