OSP looking for driver who fled after fatal crash

MILTON-FREEWATER – The Oregon State Police is actively looking for the driver involved in a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash. According to OSP, the accident happened at 3:31 a.m. Sunday on Highway 11 near milepost 33.5 in Umatilla County.

The preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian, identified as Carlos Antonio Perez, 27, of Kennewick, was struck by a vehicle under unknown circumstances. The vehicle operator did not remain on scene.

The highway was impacted for approximately 3.5 hours during the on-scene investigation.

OSP was assisted by the Milton-Freewater Police Department, Milton-Freewater Rural Fire and EMS, plus the Oregon Department of Transportation.
